In 2009 startte VTi samen met Maison du Spectacle La Bellone een traject om de kennis over en samenwerking met de podiumsector aan de andere kant van de taalgrens te stimuleren. We organiseerden vier veldbezoeken om podiumprofessionals kennis te laten maken met de praktijk van de collega’s. Al snel bleek dat er een grote nieuwsgierigheid bestaat naar de artistieke praktijk ‘aan de andere kant’. Aansluitend bij dit traject beslisten we dan ook om een volledig nummer van Courant aan Wallonië te wijden.

In the framework of IBBT, a Ghent based promotor of interdisciplinary research into the scientific and the business challenges of the information society, a collaborative research project (2007-2009) was set up: PokuMOn confronted the problems of online distribution and archiving of multimedia of performance and concerts (classical music, opera, theatre, dance etc). Recent scientific knowledge about copyrights, metadata and audio and video compression were linked so as to find pragmatic solutions for arts producers and venues and concert halls.

Thersites, Vereniging voor Vlaamse Podiumcritici, wil met het project Toneelstof het Vlaamse theater uit de jaren zestig, zeventig en tachtig opnieuw in de kijker zetten. Pareltjes van oude toneelfragmenten worden opgediept uit bestofte archieven. In 2007 werden met Toneelstof I - Route '66 de eerste resultaten getoond.
