Troubleyn/Jan Fabre is an Antwerp-based theatre company with an extensive international profile. Artist Jan Fabre has been the artistic director of the company since its founding in 1986. ‘Troubleyn’ means ‘staying faithful’ and expresses the company’s desire to cooperate in confidence with like-minded people on a long-term basis.

Damaged Goods was founded in Brussels in 1994 and is inextricably bound up with Meg Stuart (1965, New Orleans, USA), the creative force behind the company. The name Damaged Goods arises out of Stuart’s fascination with the imperfections of the human body. In spite of their characteristic and unusual movement idiom, such productions as Disfigure Study (1991), No longer readymade (1993) and No One is Watching (1995) were an immediate success with both Belgiand and European audiences.

KOPERGIETERY emerged from Speeltheater Gent, the company founded by Eva Bal in 1978. The then Ministry of Culture had asked her to give youth theatre a new elan. This led to Speeltheater Gent, a place where theatre for and by young people was the central feature. Speeltheater Gent only found its own permanent location in 1993: a former factory premises where copper was once founded was given a new use and hence KOPERGIETERY (‘copper foundry’) was born.

fABULEUS offers young people a professional framework in which to create theatre and dance productions. This mission takes the concrete form of a flexible production structure in which young theatrical and dance talent works together with more experienced artists. Both youngsters (track 1) and young professionals (track 2) receive support on an artistic, logistical and commercial level. The variations are presented to a broad audience, with special attention to youngsters and children.

Toneelhuis is one of the three civic theatre that has a resident company, and the largest theatre company in Flanders. It was set up in 1998 after a fusion of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Schouwburg (KNS) in Antwerp and the Blauwe Maandag Compagnie in Ghent.

De Munt is a federal cultural institution. In 1963 De Munt was officially named National Opera. A major turning point in the history of the Royal Monnaie was the appointment in 1981 of Gerard Mortier as general director. During his directorate, not only the building was thoroughly modernized; he also artistically reorganized the Monnaie's choir and symphonic orchestra and employed new and young staff. All this, and Mortier's choice of a more personal and peculiar repertoire, turned the Monnaie into an opera of international stature and renown.

IN VITRO is a small company whose artistic core comprises the stage director and costume designer Daphne Kitschen and the architect and lighting designer Jan Dekeyser. In 2004, while working at Troubleyn/Jan Fabre, they both had the idea of doing something on their own.
In 2005 the company made its debut with Prometheus, whose first performance took place at Les Brigitinnes in Brussels in conjunction with the Dez Mona music group. Since then, IN VITRO has presented its own productions, installations, performances and guest productions in turn.
