Are you just starting out as an artist and do you have any questions on the substance of your work, or on practical matters? Don’t know where to start in order to carry out your artistic plans? During the 2011-2012 season, VTi will continue to help and inform individual artists. Every second Tuesday afternoon, we block our agendas from 2 pm to 5 pm to help starting artists with their questions about subsidy applications, infrastructure, artistic matters, contacts… These information sessions are personal, free and without appointment. A member of the VTi staff will give you guidance and will focus on the transfer of information, sector specific knowledge and the sharing of networks. The next session will take place on 21 February at VTi on the third floor of the Kaaitheater building.
Conceptnota cultuureducatie

'Groeien in cultuur' is een samenwerking tussen de Vlaamse ministers Joke Schauvliege en Pascal Smet en werd op vrijdag 20 januari 2012 door beide ministers voorgesteld aan de Vlaamse Regering. De conceptnota beantwoordt aan de nood aan meer transversale beleidsaandacht voor cultuureducatie en geeft vorm aan een gedeelde visie, missie en doelstellingen naar kinderen en jongeren tot 18 jaar om hun creatieve talenten te laten ontwikkelen. De nota schetst de contouren van een gemeenschappelijk strategisch beleidskader en een eerste actieplan.
Staat van de jeugddans door Joke Laureyns

Op zaterdag 5 maart 2011 opende het Krokusfestival in Hasselt om 19u met de ‘Staat van de jeugddans’. Noem het een State of the Union, maar de dans voor/met kinderen/jongeren is sowieso bescheiden. Daarom wil de organisatie om de twee jaar, bij aanvang van elk Krokusfestival, aan een choreograaf, danser of betrokkene vragen zijn/haar persoonlijke 'Staat van de jeugddans' uit te spreken (of te dansen). Als allereerste in wat kan uitgroeien tot een heerlijke traditie, heeft Joke Laureyns de uitnodiging aanvaard.

Kunst en samenleving

Half februari verschijnt de honderdste editie van Courant, die als thema 'De waarde van kunst' draagt. Reden tot feest dus! Op maandagavond 27 februari organiseren we samen met STUK dan ook een avond rond dit onderwerp. Te gast zijn schrijver en dramaturg Lars Kwakkenbos, kunstenaar Michiel Vandevelde, essayist Rob Riemen, theatermaker Willy Thomas en dramaturg Erwin Jans.

Verslag - Dag van de Cultuureducatie - 25.01.2011

Op 25 januari 2011 vond de Dag van de Cultuureducatie plaats te Gent: een organisatie van CANON Cultuurcel en het Vlaamse Ministerie van Cultuur, Jeugd, Sport en Media i.s.m. Cultuurnetwerk Nederland en kunstencentrum Vooruit. De dag en de avond konden rekenen op de belangstelling van een 800-tal aanwezigen.
